Sitting on former farmland on the outskirt of the city, this backyard is playground to a couple of serious gardeners. Designed around a handful of spectacular apple tree espaliers, this new outdoor living space maximizes growing conditions for a variety of edibles and ornamentals. A dynamic combination of raised planters, some clad in delicate basalt stone and others simply cast in raw concrete, host a myriad of choice Mediterranean plants, from herbs to berries and flowers.
