In order to deal with a severely damaged lawn, the owner of this small south-facing garden gave carte blanche on her project. This is how a relax yet intricate meadow-like planting of bulbs, perennials and grasses came to flank a narrow cast-in-place walkway. An existing lilac, a magnolia and an old-fashioned rose help tie seamlessly this new planting into this long-established, traditional neighborhood. Maintenance is here kept to a minimum and seasons are wisely felt in this ever-changing arrangement.
