an emphasis on creativity, superior craft and budget management

Hello

CYAN Horticulture is a dynamic, hands-on landscape company with expertise in the design, installation and stewardship of residential and commercial projects along the Canadian west coast. Established in 2008 and based in Vancouver, Canada, we are known for our creative, logistical and horticultural excellence.

Our Team

DAVE

Dave’s love for gardening sprouted early in life—he even had his first greenhouse by age 10. After studying in Montréal and New York, he travelled the world for internships in a variety of botanical collections.

A Quebec transplant, Dave is at home in the milder temperate zone of Vancouver, where in addition to designing and cultivating landscapes, he plays tennis with more enthusiasm than success. He is seen here with Iris.

anthea

The CYAN team’s matriarch and unofficial literary critic, Anthea studied horticulture at the UBC Botanical Gardens. She has recently embraced the chaos of a rescue dog and the joys of rollerskating.

Anthea excels in leading the maintenance crew and is unbeatable when it comes to tackling the never-ending task of weeding. She is seen here with Rose.

hugo

Hugo, our bilingual Paris transplant, is a florist by trade, poet by inclination and beer enthusiast by choice. He is the boss’ bras droit on new installations, and looks forward to any demanding digging jobs.

Hugo’s a constant source of laughter, even on the wettest days. He is seen here with Daisy.

andrea

A Vancouver native, Andrea is a dedicated cinephile, epicurean and animal lover. She is also our go-getter, propagating plants by day, doing pottery by night and sailing on the weekends.

Andrea finds that listening to crime podcasts makes her daily farm tasks—watering, potting up, and herding the hens—a breeze. She is seen here with Poppy.

oscar

Oscar, a biology student and martial arts enthusiast, is an impressive fountain of trivia. Despite being the CYAN team rookie, he has swiftly mastered all garden tasks with wisdom beyond his years.

Oscar has yet to arrive late to a job site. He is seen here with Lily.

sam

Sam, our Irish intern, boasts unparalleled experience and travel. Trained in Dublin and London, he’s a remarkable plantsman with a keen eye for photography and quite the Instagram verve.

As Sam explores our Pacific Northwest plants in their natural habitat, he particularly favours our local Madrone and giant Pacific Dogwood. He is seen here with Hyacinth.

“our closely knit team offers flexibility and reliability. backed by trusted go-to trades, we are able to provide a smooth and efficient design and installation process.”
