St George Street

renovation | riley park-little mountain

The goal of this renovation was to expand from one to three homes on the site. The landscape design prioritizes maximizing growing areas and plant diversity, offering residents the opportunity to cultivate their own gardens.

In the front yard, planting choices focus on low water and nutrient input, with emphasis on vibrant blooms during the midsummer peak.

The garden, open to the street, eschews sharp, opaque privacy elements like hedges. Additionally, the integration of the City-owned boulevard area into the main garden design ensures a cohesive aesthetic without the use of any lawn.

Existing soil and boulders were carefully preserved and then reused for the new garden
